Witness your future.
A QUT KPB326 short film directed by Tony Freitas, 2026. My roles: Social Media Manager and Behind-the-Scenes Photographer.
My Production Roles
Responsibilities
Social media: planning the campaign, building a post schedule, writing captions, getting post approvals from the director or producer, publishing and tracking analytics and other insights.
BTS photography: documenting key scenes and setups, working around takes without disrupting the shoot, selecting and editing the final stills.
Creative and technical contributions
Creative: I built a consistent visual identity across every post using the film's purple palette and a single font throughout. All video content was graded to a similar look so the feed read as one campaign. To emulate the film's comedic side, I chose lighthearted formats posting trend-based content like the bottle flip and mannequin challenges, plus satirical interviews.
Technical: I mainly captured content on my Sony A7III Camera with a Tamron 28-75 Lens. The iPhone 15 was also used to capture videos and other phone content. To edit photos I used Adobe Lightroom Classic and for videos I used Final Cut Pro X.
Pre-production
During pre-production phase I sat with the crew and had production meetings. During these meetings I would discuss plans for social media posts with Lachlan the producer and that is when we would come up with plans of when to post GoFundMe updates and other promotional pre-production posts.

On Set
On set I was proactively capturing BTS photos and videos of the cast and crew. I did this without disrupting takes and I coordinated with AD’s on when I could shoot. I also got consent from cast and crew to photograph and post them. Additionally, during breaks I would brainstorm social-media video ideas and film short form content revolving around trends. These videos would feature the cast and crew.
Current Campaign
Misfortune has not been released yet, so this covers the pre-release campaign to date (as of 23/10/26). The sequence of posting including rolling out ‘Meet the crew’ posts early to establish the team behind the short film.
During production the short form trend videos were posted as well as some BTS photography. Closer to when the film is released, ‘Meet the cast’ posts will be released.
During post-production more BTS stills were posted as well as satirical interviews (video below).
It was deliberately chosen to delay ‘Meet the cast’ posts closer to release date as there would be larger audience engaged/familiar with Misfortune’s social media presence in it’s later stages compared to earlier (The account has more followers and engagement now than before) Additionally, posting the cast closer to the release date keeps their profiles fresh in the mind of audiences.
